Pearl Harbor Rehearsal Notes - Please take note

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PEARL HARBOR SINGERS!]]
We had a wonderful rehearsal on Saturday! Our next rehearsal is Saturday, August 7 at Stefanie Carson's house and on ZOOM. I hope you can make it.
Notes were taken on Saturday of changes, clarifications, and just plain old information! More will be forthcoming, but this is a good start. Please make notes in your music of this information. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Texting gets the fastest response - 559-285-7124.
1. God Bless America - we will ignore the introduction and begin singing on page 2. Additionally, we will sing a second verse with a lead soloist. This is where you need to make changes on your music. First time through, we are inserting a measure when we get to measure 32 - we are inserting 32A, which will be our 1st ending. Notes in the new measure are Tenors - G whole note; Lead - Eb whole note; Bari - Bb whole note; Bass - Eb whole note. We then return to measure 17 and sing the entire second page as written, singing on "loo" until measure 29, when we sing the lyrics, Second time through, we ignore the first ending, 32A (whole notes). Our second ending goes straight through.
2. This is My Country - we will sing this as a rousing Patriotic song, not a dirge. Intro moves along. We will sing the second verse with a lead solo, while everyone "loo's" until m 31, when everyone sings lyrics, This verse is missing on our learning tracks, but the notes are identical to the first verse. Additionally, basses - the learning tracks have an incorrect note in m. 9, the last note. She sings it as an F, but please sing the G as written on the music. Measure 34 - ritardando, and crescendo. Another crescendo on m 39-40.
3. Star Spangled Banner - ending notes on "of the brave" - Tenor - F,E,F; Lead - C, C, C; Bari - A, Bb, A; Bass- F,G,F.
4. Armed Forces Medley - Singing this song in the key of A, not Ab. Marines Hymn - give it up to the basses if you are a tenor, lead, or bari. Meaning - sing quietly, reverently.
5, Let Freedom Ring - wow! My favorite song... Page 1 is sung ad lib while solo voice speaks the lyrics. Just have to listen and watch - and really know your part. All sing lyrics at B, measure 10. No changes in this song. Takes time to learn, but worth it.
6. What Would I Do Without My Music - measure 46 and 47 - tenors hold a D natural until "carry on." Learning tracks leave out part of the ending - please sing the ending as written.
7. One Voice - Will start with 4 solo voices - it could be you!
8, Peace on Earth - we will substitute another word for "Brothers" and I would like it to be gender-neutral. Suggestions?
9. You've Got a Friend in Me - everyone sings words in m 20 - "no better friend than me" - notes are the same as the note of the "do" on the downbeat. We have a swipe up in m 48 - tenors go from a B Natural to F; Leads from a G to a B natural; Baris from an F to a D; Bass from a D to a G. All notes go up!; M 58 (last measure), tenors and leads repeat the words "my friend" and swipe up. Tenors go from D to F; Leads from Bb to D.
Honestly, that's all! If you are sitting there confused, make sure you take each song and go through it slowly. Come to rehearsals either on Zoom or in person. Then you get to sing it!! Fun and very rewarding. We sounded GREAT on Saturday.
